The Company

Established in 2003, Kirk and Marsh Ltd provides Principal Designer, CDM Advisor, Safety Consulting and Building Documentation services throughout the UK from centrally-located offices in Stirling.

Our staff have many years of experience in the construction industry with expertise across all sectors from Education & Health to Housing & Energy and have a proven track record in the practical management of construction health and safety and the preparation of professional documentation.

We deliver our professional services throughout the UK, from Orkney to Brighton. The location of our office in the heart of Scotland’s industrial belt ensures we can respond rapidly and effectively to our clients throughout the UK.
We have built our reputation on providing our Clients with the confidence and assurance that their interests are being protected by the application of our considerable knowledge and experience of construction safety management and our understanding of design and construction processes.

The Team

JIM KIRK

Jim co-founded Kirk and Marsh Ltd in 2003. He has a professional electrical and electronic engineering background, with extensive experience in the management of large-scale electronic signing and information management projects for highways, airports and municipal infrastructures throughout the eastern seaboard of the US and worldwide.

As Building Services Manager for a large multinational organisation, he managed a range of facilities in the southeast of England and was responsible for developing the property portfolio to meet the organisation’s needs including planning and supervising construction projects. His experience brings a unique client perspective to the delivery of Kirk and Marsh’s construction safety and building documentation services.

GARY MARSHALL

Gary Marshall joined Kirk and Marsh in January 2016. He has over 35 years’ experience in the construction industry, originally training as a civil engineer. His career history has involved working with local authorities, civil and building contractors, specialist building component and telecoms companies, as well as consultancy services providers. Gary has worked throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

This diverse background, allied to a forensic knowledge of health and safety legislation and the obligations of all parties to a contract, provides Gary with a well-rounded appreciation of health and safety and design related issues.

CARON FORREST

Caron joined Kirk and Marsh Ltd in September 2020. She has 18 years’ experience in Health & Safety with the last 10 years as a H&S Consultant undertaking the role of CDM-C/Principal Designer/CDM Advisor on projects from £50K- £215M.

Her career to date has involved with working in both the public and private sectors involving local authorities and commercial developers in a broad range of projects including public realm works, transportation, education, leisure, healthcare and residential throughout the UK.

An experienced H&S manager, Caron proactively advises on current health, safety and environmental legislation and good practice, promoting a positive health & safety culture within construction and operational teams to ensure continual improvement.

NICOLA MCMILLAN

Nicola joined Kirk and Marsh Ltd in April 2013 and has more than 8 years’ experience in the construction industry, working on projects ranging in value from £50k to over £100m.

Her career history has involved working in a variety of sectors throughout the UK, including residential, commercial, education, healthcare, domestic, infrastructure, refurbishment, and demolition projects, providing advice and guidance on CDM, Health & Safety, and design related matters to all parties within the project team.

Her depth of experience and qualifications in the construction industry, provide Nicola with a pragmatic appreciation of Health & Safety implementation enabling her to provide practical advice on good practice throughout the life of a project.

LINDSEY WALKER

With more than 12 years’ experience in document scanning and management technologies Lindsey is well placed to provide our clients with practical advice on the efficient planning and compilation of high quality documentation. She has developed Operating & Maintenance Manuals, User Guides and Handbooks for projects ranging from small offices to substantial city centre multi-use developments in the UK education, healthcare, public realm and residential sectors.

DAWN NEIL

Dawn has over 20 years’ experience in managing complex, sensitive and security restricted documentation having previously worked with the Ministry of Defence. Her understanding of professional documentation standards and attention to detail are invaluable in the design & compilation of specialist documentation for complex, large scale multi-discipline projects throughout the UK.
